Terms of Use
The short version: use Aerion to learn and think, be respectful, double-check anything important, and don't try to misuse it. Accounts that repeatedly send harmful or manipulative messages are paused.
Who can use Aerion
If you are under 13, you can use Aerion only after a parent or guardian agrees through the permission email Aerion sends them. If you are 13 to 17, use Aerion with a parent or guardian's permission. Give your real birth month and year: it can't be changed later without contacting us. You are responsible for your account, so keep your password private and consider turning on two-factor sign-in.
What Aerion is, and isn't
Aerion is an AI learning assistant. AI can make mistakes, so check important facts with reliable sources. Aerion is not a doctor, lawyer, financial advisor or therapist, and its answers are not professional advice. If you are in danger or crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line (in the US, call or text 988).
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Aerion to:
- seek help with violence, weapons capable of mass harm, illegal drugs, malware, or breaking into accounts or systems;
- harass, threaten, or expose private information about other people;
- create sexual content involving minors, or any sexual or graphic content;
- trick Aerion into ignoring its rules or revealing its instructions;
- upload photos of other people without their permission, or ask Aerion to identify people from their faces;
- upload documents you don't have the right to use, or that contain other people's private information;
- overload, scrape, or attack the service, or get around its limits;
- cheat in ways your school or employer prohibits. Aerion is built to help you understand, not to do work for you to hand in as your own.
Classes
Teachers who create classes are responsible for using them appropriately, including getting any permission their school or students' parents require. Only share join codes with your students. Aerion may remove classes that are misused.
Fair use and safety measures
To keep Aerion available and safe for everyone, there are daily and per-minute limits on requests. Messages may be screened automatically. A harmful or manipulative message is refused, and three in 24 hours pauses an account for 24 hours. The owner may also pause or close accounts that break these terms.
Plans and payments
Aerion has a free plan with daily limits. Aerion Plus, when offered, is a subscription that renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time from You → Your plan → Manage billing; you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. Prices are shown before you pay and may change with notice before your next renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe. Only adults can buy Plus. If something goes wrong with a charge, contact us and we will make it right; where the law gives you a right to a refund, we honor it. The owner may also give Plus for free (for example to teachers or testers).
Your content
What you write and what Aerion writes for you is yours to use, subject to these terms. You give Aerion permission to store and process your content only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Availability and changes
Aerion is provided as is and may change, pause, or stop at any time. Features may be added or removed. If these terms change meaningfully, the date at the top will change and continued use means you accept the updated terms.
Ending your use
You can stop using Aerion and delete your account at any time under You → Account → Delete my account.
Limits on responsibility
To the extent the law allows, Aerion and its owner are not responsible for decisions you make based on its answers, or for indirect losses from using the service.
